The SiteSearch page at asosh.org, and the mirror SiteSearch page at asosh.sheafrica.info, provide rapid links to analytical methods, Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS) and other chemical information. For example if you have obtained an OEL for Glutaraldehyde at the SAIOH DME OEL F- L page and you now want further information on the chemical such as a International Chemical Safety Card (ICSC):
Copy the CAS number for Glutaraldehyde: 111-30-8 from the DME OEL F- L page, go to the top of the F - L page and click on SiteSearch. Paste the CAS number into the Search box at the OHS section of the SiteSearch page. Check the CDC NIOSH US or the ILO CH radio buttons and then click the Google Search button to obtain the relevant links to the International Chemical Safety Card (ICSC) for Glutaraldehyde at the NIOSH or ILO sites.
To obtain a NIOSH analytical method for Glutaraldehyde check the CDC NIOSH US button and add the search term:
111-30-8 analytical method
or
Glutaraldehyde analytical method and click the Google Search button.
The NIOSH analytical methods are available as pdf files which require the Adobe Acrobat reader. If you do not yet have the free Adobe Acrobat Reader then Get Adobe Acrobat. You could also read the Text version of the NIOSH analytical method cached at Google after the Google search.
To obtain chemical information on Glutaraldehyde from the
Canadian Centre for Occupational Safety and Health (CCOHS) drop the
Glutaraldehyde CAS Number: 111-30-8 into the search box, check the CCOHS
CA button and click the Google Search button.
Exposure Standards for airborne pollutants are available at the NOHSC site in
Australia. Drop the CAS number 111-30-8 into the search box, check the NOHSC
AU button and conduct the search.
Conduct a world wide web search for MSDS for Glutaraldehyde or preparations containing Glutaraldehyde by checking the Search WWW button and using a search term such as: 111-30-8 msds.
A separate Chemical section has not been added to the SiteSearch page as via the OHS section you can search
the CCOHS (Canada), EPA (US), HSE (UK), ILO (Switzerland), NIOSH (US), NOHSC
(Australia), OSHA (US), Safety Net (New Zealand) and SIRI (US) sites which all
contain considerable chemical information. By clicking the question marks at the
SiteSearch page the abbreviations used such as NIOSH are explained.
The OHS Section of the SiteSearch page and its
Mirror are conveniently located via the links at the top of every saioh.org OEL page
as shown at the top of this page.
